Activity Overview

Spend a day amidst the stunning scenery of New Zealand’s tallest mountain on this great Mount Cook Tour from Christchurch. At an elevation of 3,754m Mount Cook (also known by its traditional name; Aoraki ) is the 37th highest mountain in the world and holds huge spiritual significance to the local population

Your journey will take you through the scenic South Island, through the Canterbury Plains and past Lake Tekapo.

On reaching Mount Cook you are free to explore the picturesque Mount Cook Village at your leisure.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Copthorne Central Hotel, 776 Colombo Street, Christchurch. Here, you will board a luxury coach that will take you on a scenic sightseeing journey from Christchurch to Mount Cook.

The tour will start from Christchurch through the rich pastoral farmland of the Canterbury Plains. Then you will travel inland to the township of Geraldine where you stop for morning tea (Payable direct).

After a tea break at Geraldine, you will travel across historic Burkes Pass before descending to the stunning glacial-fed Lake Tekapo to visit the Church of the Good Shepherd.

From here you will travel up the western side of Lake Pukaki to Mount Cook. Your time at Mount Cook is at leisure

You have the option of ending the tour here and making your own way back to Christchurch. However there is an option for return transport which also includes lunch.
