Overview

This cruise is ideal for people who do not need transport from Auckland and who want to see all the highlights of the magnificent Bay of Islands in one day. Do the original Cream Trip, visit the 'Hole in the Rock' and go ashore to explore one of the most beautiful Islands in the bay.

See the spectacular Black Rocks - unusual volcanic formations found in only two places in the world. Meander in and out of the many picturesque bays calling on locals, as your catamaran delivers their stores and mail – a task it has been performing for over 100 years. You may see seals, dolphins or even whales and endless bird and marine life.

During your visit to the charming Urupukapuka Island you can enjoy the scenic walks, swim, take a Nautilus submarine adventure and explore the colorful underwater marine life.

Itinerary

The tour departs from the Paihia Wharf or the Russell Wharf. Please reach the tour’s starting point on your own.

Board the Tangaroa III, a large modern catamaran equipped with commentary and cruise in the beautiful Bay of Islands.

Cruise to the famous Hole in the Rock at Cape Brett while enjoying great views from everywhere on the modern cruising catamaran. The friendly crew shares the local history and ecology of the region. Often a variety of marine wildlife can be spotted including whales, seals, dolphins, penguins, and other sea and bird life as you travel out to the Hole of the Rock.

There will be an island stopover at Urupukapuka Island where you can relax at the cafe and enjoy some delicious cream tea. There will be time for you to explore the walking tracks of scenic Urupukapuka Island or safe swimming in the Bay.
