Itinerary

Panoramic Amsterdam Tour and Van Gogh Museum

There is no hotel pick-up. Meet your motor coach and multilingual guide at Rokin 10, or at Paulus Potterstraat 8 (between Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum).

On your tour you will spend around 1.5 hours exploring the city by motor coach. You will have a brief stop at a windmill and spend approximately 30 minutes visiting a diamond factory.

A humble medieval fishing village in the 13th century, Amsterdam was the world's economic center by the 17th century. Today, it is renowned for its art, architecture, ambience, bicycles, cafes, canals and culture. Not to mention its legendary tolerance and red light district!

Your Amsterdam city tour starts in the center, where you will see some significant historic buildings, such as the town hall in Dam Square (now the Royal Palace). Driving through the cobbled streets, you will also see all the lovely old canal-side houses, built by rich merchants in Amsterdam's Golden Age.

You will pass the bustling main harbor. An important European port, Amsterdam is linked to the North Sea and other European countries by a network of railways and canals. And your route also takes in the magnificent 19th century Grand Central Station by architect Pierre Cuypers.

As you travel further from the center, you will see some fine modern architecture. Amsterdam’s harmonious mix of old and new makes it one of the most interesting and attractive cities in Europe.

A visit to the Dutch capital would not be complete without seeing a windmill. You will pause for a photo-opportunity at one of these.

As one of the day's highlights, you will stop at one of Amsterdam’s celebrated diamond factories for a guided tour. The city has been a world center for diamonds since the 16th century. As you walk around the factory, the guide will explain how diamonds are selected, cut and polished.

At the end of your Amsterdam panoramic tour you will be dropped off back at the pick-up point (at Rokin 10, or at Paulus Potterstraat 8 – between the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum).

As part of this option you will be given a ticket to the world- famous Van Gogh Museum.
This wonderful gallery contains the world’s largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh. It also provides the opportunity to observe the artist's development and compare his paintings to works by other 19th century artists.
