Itinerary

Set out on a panoramic tour of the World Trade Center, the Siqueiros Cultural Polyforum, the monumental Mexico Bull Ring and the Insurgentes Theatre with its mosaic murals by artist Diego Riviera.

Further on, proceed to the University City located in Coyoacan borough in the southern part of Mexico City. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the university encloses the Olympic Stadium, the Cultural Centre, an ecological reserve, the Central Library and some museums. Interestingly, the university was built on a bed of solidified lava to replace the scattered buildings in downtown Mexico City.

Continue to the waters of the Xochimilco Canals where you can take a traditional boat cruise down ancient Aztec canals. The place is famous for its extended series of canals on the ancient Lake Xochimilco. Sail on colorful trajineras, a traditional boat between chinampas (floating gardens – an ancient Mesoamerican agriculture) covered with flowers. The shores of Xochimilco Canals are lined with houses and docks, and are a favorite haunt of Mexican families and tourists on the weekends.

Further on, head to the impressive colonial district of Coyoacan and take a walk down the Francisco Sosa Street lined with architectural marvels from the 16th century. Also stop by at the Church of Saint John the Baptist and marvel at its paintings.

After exploring the historical district of Coyoacan, you will be dropped back to Mexico City.
