Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Marrakech at 0900h (09:00am) and will travel to the start point of your tour the old medina of Marrakech.

Walk through one of the most interesting quarters of Marrakech. Stroll along labyrinthine alleyways, catching glimpses of mosques, hammams, traditional public bakeries, fondouks (old lodging houses used by the caravans) and fountains carved in wood and decorated with inscriptions.

Visit the principle attractions, beginning with the 14th century Ben Youssef Madrasa which used to be a Koranic school and is noted for its extraordinary latticework interior decor. Continue to the nearby 12th century Kubba El Baroudyine, noted for its beautiful dome, which is the last surviving example of Almoravid art in Marrakech.

The tour proceeds to visit the nearby 19th century Menebhi palace, owned by a Moroccan vizier and built in the pure Moroccan urban style of architecture of the period. Today it houses the Musée de Marrakech, a private museum with rotating displays of Moroccan art.

Continue on foot through the colourful souks which are classified according to goods sold and where you can see craftsmen practicing their traditional art.

You will emerge onto the lively Djemma el Fna Square. Mingle with the popular entertainers, musicians, acrobats, snake charmers, story tellers and water sellers on our way up to one of the terraces overlooking the antics of the square, the ideal place for a respite and where you can enjoy a cool drink.

At the end of the tour you will be returned to your hotel in Marrakech. You will arrive at your hotel at around 1200h (midday).
