An official Royal residence for over 900 years, Windsor Castle is the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world. You get a sense of British history breathing through the walls as you see the lavishly decorated State Apartments containing priceless furniture in glorious colours, and St George’s Chapel. Controversial in its time for its vaulting grandeur, the Salisbury Cathedral has the tallest spire in England. It is also home to one of the only four surviving copies of the Magna Carta, the document which provided the framework for the English judicial system. Stonehenge’s mystifying formations continue to puzzle and enthral visitors. Who built it? Why? These questions have haunted the minds of centuries of scholars..
