Overview

Enjoy a relaxing train journey to the spectacular Lake District National Park Area. Travel through the Midlands passing canals, market towns, to reach Oxenholme where your tour starts.Highlights of the day include acruise on one of the lakes and a visit to the the medieval village of Hawkshead.

The tour starts from Euston Station, outside the Main ticket office at 08:00am where you will meet a local representative. You will be given a round trip train ticket (with reserved seats) and will arrive at Oxenholme where you'll be met by a guide who will take you on your tour of the Lake District. Apart from enjoying a Lake Cruise on one of the Lakes, you will also visit:

Wray Castle built in 1840 in the Gothic Revival style, Beatrix Potter enjoyed several holidays as a child in Wray castle. Wray castle offer splendid views over Lake Windermere.

Afternoon tea is provided at the Lindeth Howe Hotel.


On your way back to the station, you will cross the sprawling Victorian town of Bowness-on-Windermere in time to take the train back to London, arriving at Euston Station at around 09:25pm.

Winter Special Itinerary:
you will meet a local representative at Euston Station to collect your tickets and itinerary for the day, then enjoy a relaxing train journey to Oxenholme in the spectacular Lake District National Park.

On arrival at Oxenholme you will be met by a local guide, who will take you on a tour of the Lake District. This tour is the ideal way to explore the favourite places associated with Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth.

We travel north alongside Lake Windermere to Waterhead and then from here we drive to the medieval village of Hawkshead where you have time to explore this fascinating village. We continue on towards the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows where we stop for a photo before driving through Yewdale, passing Yew Tree Tarn and Skelwith Bridge.

Our next destination is the charming setting of Rydal Mount & Gardens once home to the famous poet William Wordsworth. Here you can enjoy a guided tour of the house & garden and a delightful cream tea before returning back to Bowness for some free time to look around the picturesque village.

You will be taken back to Oxenholme Station for the train back to London.
