    Overview

    On this tour across Europe, see some of the most beautiful places, the most popular attractions and enjoy varied delicious cuisine of different regions.

    At Amsterdam, see the famous Mint Tower and the Royal Palace while in Lucerne see the famous Lion Monument and shop for Swiss chocolates!

    Paris fascinates with its attractions: see the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe among other attractions.

    This tour will show you some of the most popular attractions of Europe.

    Itinerary

    Day 1: London - Amsterdam

    You will be picked up from the tour departure point near Victoria Station in London. After meeting the tour director enjoy for a scenic drive to the famous White Cliffs of Dover. At Dover, board a ferry and cross the sea to Calais in France. Upon arrival, you will continue by coach through the Belgian countryside to Amsterdam in Holland where the Mint Tower and Dam Square can be seen.

    You will stay in NH City Centre hotel, which is located in the city centre and overlooks the famous Singel canal. The rooms are comfortably furnished and have an internet connection and other amenities. The multi-cuisine restaurant serves regional and international delicacies including delicious Italian cuisine.

    In the evening, join your tour director for a welcome drink. Then enjoy a canal cruise in a glass-covered boat.

    Return to your hotel to spend the night.

    Day 2: Amsterdam – Rhine Cruise – Heidelberg

    After a buffet breakfast, enjoy an orientation tour of this city featuring the Mint Tower, which stands on the busy Muntplein square and Royal Palace, which is Queen Beatrix's royal residence and seat of the house of Orange. You will also visit a diamond-cutting and polishing factory, (opening times permitting).

    Later, you travel past Arnhem, en route to Cologne to see its magnificent Cathedral. Then continue via Bonn to the Rhine Valley where you will embark on a Rhine cruise gliding past terraced vineyards and medieval castles. You will disembark at St. Goar, which is famous for its excellent views of the impressive Lorelei Rock before reaching beautiful Heidelberg.

    You will visit Heidelberg castle. Enjoy magnificent views from the castle terraces.

    Check into hotel Best Western Rega which has spacious, comfortable rooms with all modern amenities like a coffee maker among others. The hotel has a multi-cuisine restaurant and a summer terrace, a cocktail lounge and a swimming pool.

    Tonight you will be served dinner at the hotel. Spend the night at the hotel.

    Day 3: Heidelberg – Black Forest – Rhine Falls – Lucerne

    After a buffet breakfast, drive through the fairytale Black Forest where cuckoo-clocks were first invented, to Lake Titisee pausing to view the Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen.

    Continue into Switzerland past geranium-covered wooden chalets to the lakeside city of Lucerne and check into Grand Hotel Europe. It has tastefully-decorated rooms with dark oak furnishings, and large windows which open out onto balconies that offer excellent views of the lake and mountains. The hotel has a multi-cuisine restaurant.

    Spend the night at the hotel.

    Day 4: Lucerne Orientation

    After a buffet breakfast, enjoy an orientation tour of this city and see the Lion Monument. It was built in memory of Louis XVI's Swiss Guards who died protecting Louis XVI and Mary Antoinette from a furious mob. Then your tour director will reveal a hidden treasure of this charming town to you.

    You will then have time at leisure. You could take a mountain excursion (payable extra) or shop for Swiss watches and chocolate.

    Dinner will be served to you in the hotel where you will spend the night.

    Day 5: Lucerne – Paris

    After a buffet breakfast, board a coach and travel to France, passing Belfort and the remains of the Maginot Line, a line of concrete and steel defenses erected in the 1930s along the French-German border. Continue past the onion-domed churches of Montbeliard to stop at the picturesque vineyards at Savigny-Les-Beaune. There will be a photo stop here.

    Continue to Paris and check into hotel Novotel Gare de Lyon which lies close to the Bastille and the Louvre. The hotel has a multi-cuisine restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool and fitness centre. The air-conditioned rooms have a mini bar, wireless internet access and all other modern amenities. This evening in Paris, you have the chance to go to one of Europe’s finest cabaret shows tonight!

    Spend the night at the hotel.

    Day 6: Paris Sightseeing

    After a buffet breakfast, go on a sightseeing tour of the city accompanied by a local guide. See France’s most famous shopping avenue, Champs Elysées and Notre Dame Cathedral which is an imposing Gothic style cathedral where Napoleon crowned himself as the emperor. It is notable for its impressive architecture and elegant interiors.

    Also see the Arc de Triomphe which is one of the most famous monuments in Paris and stands at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The Arc de Triomphe is engraved with the names of generals who commanded French troops during Napoleon's regime. You will also visit the Place de la Concorde, which is the largest public square in Paris, situated along the beautiful Seine. At the centre stands a giant Egyptian obelisk decorated with hieroglyphics praising the reign of the pharaoh Ramses II.

    Then see the Eiffel Tower and ascend to the second level for panoramic views of the river and the city. You will then have free time for shopping or visiting some of the city’s great museums after that.

    At night, join the tour director for a farewell dinner with wine at a local restaurant.

    Return to the hotel to spend the night.

    Day 7: Depart Paris

    After a buffet breakfast, travel across the Battlefields of Somme viewing the Canadian War Memorial at Vimy Ridge. Upon arrival at Calais, board a ferry to Dover.

    From Dover, board the coach that will take you back to London.

    You will be dropped off near Victoria Station in London where your tour ends.
