Itinerary

Your unforgettable Sunset Bike Tour Of Florence begins when you meet your guide at Via dei Cimatori 9 Red, Florence, very close to the Signoria Square. For 2½ hours, an expert local official tour guide will lead you on a bicycle tour of Florence. You’ll see the city as the sun sets and the lights illuminate the streets and monuments.

On this evening tour of Florence’s most important sites, you will see the Santissima Annunziata square, where you are surrounded by beautiful ancient buildings that were so important for the city of Florence: the church, dedicated to the Holy Annunciation, and the Foundling Hospital, built by Filippo Brunelleschi.

You’ll see the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest and the most famous bridge in Florence. The bridge was originally occupied by butcher shops that were eventually replaced by jewelers and goldsmiths. It is the only bridge that was not destroyed during World War II.

You’ll cycle past several important squares containing churches and other magnificent buildings. Santa Croce Piazza is one of the main squares in the center of Florence and is named for the Basilica of Santa Croce that overlooks the square.

Santa Maria Novella Piazza is located just across from the main railway station which shares its name. Chronologically, it is the first great basilica in Florence, and is the city's principal Dominican church.

See the stunning views of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo and take beautiful pictures home. Then walk up to the San Miniato Church, a real example of “antiquity” in Florence.

Piazza Santa Trinita (Holy Trinity square) is a small square that is home to the Salvatore Ferragamo museum of shoes and bags. The elegant and aristocratic Republic Square is where the Roman forum once stood. Today in the side of the square there is a column that marks the precise geographical center of Florence.

In Signoria Square, the focal point for Florentine political life, you’ll find a palace once occupied by the infamous Medici family. It now serves as the town hall.

You’ll can’t miss the astounding Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with its massive dome that dominates the city skyline.

You’ll also see the elegant and unfinished Strozzi Palace. The head of the Strozzi family was taken prisoner by Cosimo I Medici and committed suicide. The palace is famous for the wrought-iron lanterns that decorate the corners.

The Old Market Portico sells souvenirs, and is famous for the 17th century bronze statue of a wild boar. According to legend, anyone who rubs the always shining snout of Il Porcellino will soon return to Florence.

At the conclusion of the tour, you will return to Via dei Cimatori 9 Red, Florence. From here, you are free to make your way to your accommodation.
