Cruise down the famous River Liffey and get an introduction into the history of Dublin and the river itself. The river has always played a pivotal part in the development of Dublin: from a passageway used by Vikings over 1000 years ago to the rapid growth brought on by the Industrial Revolution.
Along the route you will pass beneath iconic bridges such as the Ha’penny Bridge and glide past majestic buildings like Gandon’s Custom House. Discover the history of Dublin’s canals and see the city from a unique perspective.
The boat is moored at a landing stage on Bachelor's Walk, between O' Connell Bridge and the Ha'Penny Bridge. It is clearly visible from either one. The nearest Luas Stop (Light Rail Tram System) is a 5-minute walk away in Abbey Street.
During your voyage you will pass through both the Royal Canal and the Grand Canal, and get an entertaining introduction to Dublin’s highlights by a professional guide. Along the way you will see Custom House, a beautiful neoclassical construction, which is nowadays used as a government building. See where Oliver Cromwell landed in 1649 and hear how the legendary Captain William Bligh surveyed Dublin Bay in 1800. You will also hear about the more recent developments along the Liffey River, such as the Dublin Docklands.
After your enlightening cruise you will be returned back to the starting point.
