Enjoy the best of the tourist attractions of Hungary and also get an insight into the rich history of the country on this tour. Visit scenic Szentendre, a town that has changed little since the 18th century. Its cobblestone alleyways and church spires are a visual delight. Also see the tourist attractions of Visegrád, the seat of power during Hungary’s short lived flirtations with the renaissance movement in the 15th century. Explore the town of Esztergom, which is dominated by a stunning basilica.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from a centrally-located hotel and accompanied by a guide, travel in a coach to visit:

Esztergom: It is one of the oldest towns in Hungary, and was the capital of the country from the 10th till the mid-13th century. It is still the seat of the Roman Catholic Church in Hungary.

Visegrád: Walk upon the 750 year-old stones of the formal Royal residence and enjoy a fascinating view of the Danube valley from the hilltop citadel.

Szentendre (artist's village): Walk around the baroque settlement, built on medieval ruins of the picturesque artist's village called Szentendre, situated at the South Gate of Danube Bend.

During the summer (1May – 30 September), you will return to Budapest by boat on the Danube.

The tour ends at the pier/city centre.
