The tour begins from Skala Square. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, set out in an air-conditioned vehicle towards the port of Sami, on the East coast of Kefalonia. Board your boat and cruise towards the island of Ithaca.
Arrive at the picturesque harbour of Vathy, the capital of Ithaca.
Go ashore in Vathy, also the largest village on the island, and have free time to explore.
The chief attraction at Vathy is the ruins of the fort built by the French in 1807.
You could also see the beautiful houses of G. Karavias and G. Drakoulis, the churches of Agios Georgios (Saint George), a superbly restored cathedral known for its exquisite wood carved iconostasis, the Archaeological Museum which houses a collection of various findings from the Geometric period, the Mycenaean and the Corinthian periods, and the house where the legendary Greek hero, Odysseas Androutsos, was born.
Those desiring to do simply nothing but soak in the charming atmosphere are free to stroll around the shops or relax in one of the many local tavernas in order to taste the traditional cuisine (payable direct).
At the end of a memorable day, the tour returns to the starting point.
