An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour and taken in an air-conditioned coach for a sightseeing tour of Athens.
The first short stop will be the Panathinaikos Stadium, the cradle of the first Modern Olympic Games which took place there in 1896.
The tour will then pass by the New Royal Palace. Located in central Athens, the New Royal Palace is the official residence of the president of Greece.
See the Zappeion Gardens, a vast expanse of greenery criss-crossed by broad alleys and decorated with many beautiful sculptures.
Stop at the Temple of the Olympian Zeus. The temple originally had 104 columns, each 17 meters high. Today, only 15 columns remain, but they still convey a sense of the enormous size of the original temple.
Continue the tour as you pass by National Garden, the Hadrian’s Arc, St. Paul’s Church, the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown soldier, Schlieman’s House (where the Numismatic Museum is housed), the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Old Parliament, Constitution Square and the Russian Orthodox Church.
The highlight of the tour will be a stop at the Acropolis. The Acropolis Hill or the "Sacred Rock" of Athens stands overlooking the city. It has some of the finest architecture that dates back to the ancient Greek civilization. See the Parthenon, the internationally recognized symbol of the city, dedicated to Athena Parthenos, the patron goddess of Athens. Other architectural masterpieces include the Erechtheion, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Propylaea.
At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at the starting point in Athens.
