See the Park Sanssouci, a huge park which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, along with all its outbuildings. The park houses the spectacular Schloss Sanssouci, a fabulous rococo palace with amazing interiors. Also worth visiting is the New Garden which hosts the Marmorpalais and the Palace Cecilienhof. The Gedenk-und Begegnungsstätte Ehemaliges KGB-Gefängnis Potsdam, Leistikowstr.-1 is a must visit for the students of history. This place is literally the Memorial, Meeting-place and Former KGB Prison for Potsdam. It was originally occupied by soviet forces and has been reconstructed as a prison for the counterintelligence. Right in centre of the city are the "Dutch Quarters" or the Holländisches Viertel, built in the 18th century. Stroll through the Alter Markt, the old market in the historic city centre or the New Market in an original preserved baroque market square from the 18th century. Explore the Park Babelberg which houses an gothic-style castle. The park is also a part of the World Heritage Site.
