Your private Volkswagen minibus will pick you up from your hotel for this Beaujolais Golden Stone Region sightseeing tour.

Your minibus weaves through the Golden Stones region, so-called because the houses there were built with a rare kind of limestone that lends them a gingerbread hue.

Quaint villages that have stood for centuries, seemingly outside of time, preside over sweeping valleys on your scenic drive through the country.

Round out your morning with a tasting at a family winery, where Beaujolais vintners reveal the secrets of their ambrosia, which has earned the area the reputation as France’s Tuscany.

Lunch in the medieval village of Theize, where a variety of regional specialties are offered up starting at 17 Euros (payable direct). The area is a popular destination for gourmands, with its foie gras, croustades, and sweet melons sure to please.

Your minibus will take you to Oignt in the afternoon, widely considered one of France’s most beautiful villages. Perched atop a lush promontory, this fortified city boasts a medieval tour that grants magnificent views of the surrounding country. A second tasting at a family winery in Oignt brings the day to a rich, fragrant conclusion.

At the end of the tour you will be dropped back in the vicinity of your hotel in Lyon.
