The tour starts from Dijon Tramway station. Your bilingual driver and guide will pick you up from the station in an air-conditioned minivan.
You will travel through the following villages in the Côte d'Or region, learning from your guide about the art and science of viticulture and winemaking:
Nuits-Saint-Georges – In 2007, this village was the site of the traditional Burgundian festival, la Saint-Vincent-Tournante, which celebrates the wine of a different village each year.
Vosne-Romanée – The wines from this storied village are known for their richness and balance, and for longevity that exceeds most other wines of Burgundy.
Chambolle-Musigny – This town specializes in red wines from the Pinot Noir grape, with two dozen Premier Cru vineyards.
Morey-St-Denis – Less well-known than some of its wine-producing neighbors, Morey still boasts five Grand Cru vineyards.
Gevrey-Chambertin – Often called the King of Burgundy, Gevrey-Chambertin’s wines are among the finest in France, and were thought to be the favorite of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Drive along the Route des Grads Crus, which features rolling vineyards and small French villages, many with picturesque church steeples that rise amid the hills.
You will stop at one prestigious wine cellar for a tasting, then stop at a neighboring cellar for a second tasting and a wine comparison.
You also have the option of extending your tour with a visit to the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits where you will compare wines and cellars during your second cellar visit and wine tasting.
Your minivan will drop you back at the Dijon Tramway station at tour’s end.
