  • Overview & Itinerary

    Overview

One of the best ways to view the spectacular Iguassu Falls is to rappel (abseil) down the vertical basalt cliffs that frame the stunning waterfalls.

Don a helmet and harness and gracefully descend 180 foot by rope from an iron platform to terra firma on the river-bank below. As you hang in mid-air, you will enjoy eagle’s eye views of the emerald green jungles, the sheer rock walls, and the foaming cascades.

This is a real adventure and a thrilling experience to describe to your friends back home!

    Itinerary

For your Rappel on the Iguassu Falls experience you will be picked up from your Foz do Iguassu downtown hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and driven to Iguassu National Park.

Rappeling (also known as abseiling) is a controlled descent down a rope. Climbers use this technique when a cliff or slope is too steep and/or dangerous to descend without protection.

Before beginning your adventure you will receive instruction from professional guides who will take you through the safety procedures.

The descent for rappeling Iguassu Falls starts from an iron platform built on the basalt rock wall, with its base on the right bank of the Iguazu River. The exhilarating 180 foot drop gives magnificent views of the spectacular Iguassu Falls, the Iguazu River and its gorge, the foaming rapids, the cliffs, and the luxuriant forest and its animals.

Your rappel descent takes you all the way down to the riverbank. You can then return to the starting point by climbing back up the cliff by an iron ladder.

After your adventure you will be taken back to your hotel.
