At the start of the tour you will be picked up from your hotel and driven through the beautiful Sabeto Valley to The Garden of the Sleeping Giant, located about 30 minutes drive from Nadi.
Here you find lovely landscaped gardens showcasing Fiji's native plants as well as housing a magnificent collection of orchids, some native. A jungle walk takes visitors past a large lily pond and through native forest.
The stunning orchid collection was begun in 1977 by the late Raymond Burr, star of Perry Mason and Ironside. Originally designed to house Burr's private collection of tropical orchids, the gardens have developed into a popular attraction.
Leaving the gardens you will continue to Viseisei Village, legendary landing site of the first Fijians, where you will be shown the village and handicraft displays. Along a track a short distance from Viseisei lies the historic village of Vuda – of great significance to the Fijian people.
Visit the celebrated Vuda Lookout which affords a 360 degree bird’s eye view of the western mountain ranges, Nadi Bay, Lautoka City, and the Yasawa and Mamanuca islands. Then relax and enjoy a tropical fruit juice and seasonal fruit from an orchard in a Fijian buré before beginning the leisurely drive back to Nadi.
At the end of this delightful half-day tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel.
