    Overview

    On this sightseeing tour of Fez, one of the oldest cities of Morocco, visit its magnificent gates and ramparts. These silent sentinels of time offer an insight into the stunning Moroccan architecture and design.

    Four magnificent city gates were erected to guard the old Medina and feature exquisite tiles and grand designs. Tour the gates of the Royal Palace, built by the Almohad Dynasty in 13th century and learn why Bab Boujloud is hailed as the most beautiful of them all.

    See the handiwork of Portuguese prisoners at the Southern Borj (tower), and enjoy panoramic views over the old city from here. Visit of the medieval tombs of the Merenid Dynasty. Located high above the city, these ruins offer an incomparable view over Fez.

    Gates: Royal Palace, Bab Boujloud: The Bab Boujloud gate is the most famous gate in Morocco. It is also the main entrance to the Medina. See the striking blue and green ceramic tiles that cover either side of this monumental gate. The Royal Palace is one of the most elegant structures in Morocco with a huge and impressive gate.

    Southern Borj: The Southern Tower was built between 1587 and 1609 by Portuguese prisoners to improve the defense of the Medina. The tower offers panoramic view over the Old Medina and its environs.

    Tombs of the Merenid Dynasty: Get spectacular views over the city from this resting place of the Merenid Sultans who played a crucial role in making Fez the cultural and religious capital of Morocco. The ruins are a great place to take in the sprawling vistas of the Medina below.

    District of the potters: See where the world-famous cobalt blue enameled pottery is made.
