Itinerary

Day 1:

You will be picked up at 8:30am and taken to the tour destinations in an air conditioned Mercedes minibus.

Depart Edinburgh at 9:00am and travel west passing Linlithgow Palace and Stirling. Admire the views of the imposing castle and the Wallace Monument. Pass the Doune Castle, the setting for the Monty Python's Holy Grail before stopping in Callander for refreshments.

Crossing into the Highlands, head north towards Loch Luibnaig and admire the mesmerizing scenery. Pass through Breadalbane (the high country of Scotland) and head for the wild desolation of Rannoch Moor. Continue through the spectacular mountain pass of Glencoe, the scene of the great massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692.

Leaving Fort William after lunch, drive past Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis and into the Great Glen. Travelling west on the Road to the Isles head through the stunning Five Sisters of Kintail, the mountains guarding the pass on the way to the Isle of Skye.

Stop to visit the famous Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland's most photographed castles, set at the junction of 3 lochs and completely surrounded by water.

Day 2:

Explore Skye at leisure. You can travel north to the stunning Quiraing Mountain Pass and enjoy a spectacular walk through some of Skye's extraordinary geological scenery. You can also see the Kilt Rock, composed of basalt columns with its waterfall cascading over the cliffs and down into the sea below.

After lunch, you can travel to Neist Point and take a walk to the lighthouse that is the furthest point west on Skye. Another option is to visit to Dunvegan Castle, the ancient ancestral seat of the Clan McLeod. You can also visit the Talisker Distillery, or the famous Cuillin Hills.

Day 3:

Travel south through the Cuillin Hills and then back over to the mainland. You can admire the stunning views over Loch Duich and the Five Sisters of Kintail.

Head toward Loch Ness for lunch and the possibility of spotting Nessie. There is a boat trip (summer only) available here that will get you that bit closer.

Head south through the Grampian Mountains along Loch Laggan, famous now as Monarch of the Glen Country before passing Dalwhinnie, home to Scotland's highest whisky distillery.

Drive past Blair Castle stopping for refreshments before heading back to Edinburgh past Perth and over the Forth Road Bridge.

You will return to Edinburgh around 7:00pm. The drop off point is Waverley Bridge, Edinburgh.

Discount rate applies to children aged 5-15yrs, based on 2 children sharing a room with parents in a twin room.

Rooms are available on Single or Twin Sharing basis for 1 or 2 people. Bookings for 2 people (or multiples of 2) will be allocated double/twin rooms. Should you have 1, 3 or 5 people in your party you will also be allocated a single room in addition to a double room. Should you wish for a different room combination please call us for help with the booking.

For any booking which requires one double and more than one single rooms (triple rooms unavailable), need to make separate bookings.

Travel light: You are only allowed to carry 14 kgs of luggage on this tour. A carry-on bag plus a small bag is preferable as advised by the local authorities.

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.As much time as possible is spent off the coach.
