Overview

Explore some of the North’s most iconic attractions by crossing the UN buffer zone into occupied Cyprus. Visit Salamis Archaeological Site, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Salamis was the most brilliant ancient city in Cyprus and the capital of the island for more than a thousand years. The site of Salamis is considered one of the most historically and culturally relevant locations, not only for Cyprus, but also in the Mediterranean Sea.

Visit the old town of Famagusta where you will see the exterior of the Latin Cathedral of Saint Nicholas and Othello Tower (outside visit). Enjoy some free time and stroll around the old town or have lunch.

Before heading back, stop at Constantia Beach to enjoy a sweeping view of the ghost town of Famagusta. The once bustling holiday resort which was abandoned during the Turkish invasion of 1974 and has remained sealed behind barbed wire barricades ever since.
