You will be picked up from your hotel and taken in an air-conditioned coach for a historical sightseeing tour of some of the famous landmarks in Beijing. An English-speaking tour guide will accompany you on this tour.
The highlights of your tour are:
Lama Temple: Begin your tour at the Yonghe Lamasery or the Lama Temple, and one of the best examples of the regions many sacred temples. Lama Temple reveals diverse architectural styles from Han, Mongolia, Manchuria and Tibet. There is also an impressive 60-foot Maitreya Buddha, carved form a single sandalwood tree.
Continue to the Beijing Zoo, and visit the Panda Garden, home to the giant panda. See other endangered species such as the Golden Monkey in the zoo.
Stop for a delicious lunch in a local restaurant.
Travel to the Summer Palace. Explore the largest and most impressive royal garden in China and the former retreat of emperors for 800 years. The Summer Palace is virtually a museum of traditional Chinese gardening that uses rocks, plants, pavilions, ponds, cobble paths and other garden styles to create a poetic effect between different scenes. When you stroll around the Summer Palace, you will constantly find the area changing.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Beijing.
