Itinerary

(This tour is available in two options – coach and private. The private option offers you greater flexibility and convenience to do the tour at your own pace.)

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken in a coach/private vehicle for a guided sightseeing tour that will take you from La Paz to the Peruvian town of Puno. The distance from La Paz to Puno is about 360 kilometers.

Set out on a panoramic drive through the Bolivian Highland and along the Andean mountain range with its snow-capped summits at altitudes of 6000 metres.

Enjoy a magnificent view over the Andean fields and small mud houses along the way to Puerto Perez, your first halt. Situated about 70 kilometers from La Paz, Puerto Perez is a village built by the British railway company in the early 1900s for the Lake Titicaca steamship service.

Board a boat and set out for a cruise on Lake Titicaca to the island of Pariti. The island is famous for its beautiful ceramic pottery which is displayed at the ceramic museum. Meet the Indian community which still lives on agriculture, fishing and boat building.

Cruise again stopping at the Kalahuta archaeological site, lying along one of the most beautiful bays of Titicaca Lake. See its stone houses, tombs, walls and terraces.

The cruise continues up to the Strait of Tiquina and its small navy base of the Bolivian Army.

Disembark and continue by road for 40 kilometers with panoramic views dominated by Lake Titicaca and beautiful Andean scenery.

Arrive at the town of Copacabana. Visit the church and chapel of this important pilgrimage center.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant in Copacabana before continuing overland to Kasani on the Peruvian border. Meet your Peruvian guide here and continue by road traveling alongside Lake Titicaca. Stop at Pomata to visit the colonial church built from the red Andean stone of the region and continue through the villages of Juli and Ilave. A key district for Jesuits, Juli has impressive churches and remnants of colonial architecture.

Arrive in Puno and get transferred to your hotel.
