This ticket gives you an unforgettable opportunity to swim and frolic with a playful seal. You’ll also have the chance to learn first-hand from the staff about the care of seals at the park.
At UnderWater World you can explore everything that is weird and wonderful under the sea! Thousands of astonishing creatures from seahorses to sharks and from cow fish to crocodiles are waiting to meet you in seven different zones. You’ll find an incredible collection of marine and freshwater animals including Asian small-clawed otters, sawfish, lungfish, turtles and tropical reef fish.
And there’s more … your great ticket also entitles you to a privileged “Behind the Scenes” Tour of the facility and the chance to view some fabulous shows and presentations.
Your 1-Day UnderWater World Ticket with Seal Swim is your passport to a full-day of watery fun at an award-winning attraction on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. To gain entry to the park just present your booking voucher at the entrance and it will be exchanged for a ticket.
Your pass includes a chance to swim with friendly seals, see “behind scenes” on an exclusive tour, meet an array of amazing animals in seven themed zones and enjoy special presentations and talks by UnderWater World staff .
Seal Swim :Enjoy a 15-minute Seal Swim starting at 1400h (2:00pm). All participants need to be at UnderWater World for the 1300h (1:00pm) Seal Show at Seal Cove. After the show the Seal Trainers will ask for anyone doing a Seal Swim to come down to the front of the stadium. Participants will then go behind the scenes to see where and how the seals are cared for.
Seal swimmers then get changed and have a short shower, (please limit hair products, make-up and deodorant), before taking the plunge for an interactive, 15 minute swim and play with the cheeky seals. Afterwards participants will be able to change into dry clothes and enjoy the rest of UnderWater World.
Behind the Scenes tour of UnderWater World: Be prepared for anything as you go behind the scenes at UnderWater World. See which babies are in the nursery... stingrays, turtles or others? Learn how to save marine turtles from extinction. Tours depart 1130h (11:30am), 1300h (1:00 pm) and 1430h (2:30pm) daily.
Seven Zones: Explore 7 unique zones including Touch and Tell, Weird and Wonderful, Seal Island, Otter Empire, Fresh and Freaky, Billabongs and Backyards, Crawly Creatures.
Here is a bit more detail about the delightful experiences on offer:
Touch and Tell: In this zone you can roll up your sleeves and stroke a sea star or sea cucumber in the Touch Pool. This zone also houses the Great Barrier Reef exhibit, home to 133 species of sharks and rays and over 1500 species of fish.
Weird and Wonderful: Find out about the dangerous stonefish and ask about what a cow fish looks like! Be amazed by lionfish and the unusual role of the male seahorse!
Seal Island: An amazing seal show is full of surprises and maximum “seal-iness”!
Otter Empire: Meet the lively otters, the most mischievous animals at UnderWater World. They love to pose for photos!
Fresh and Freaky: Everything that is fresh and freaky to explore is here! See the sawfish, Marge the freshwater crocodile, and spot giant barramundi lurking in the depths and much more!
Billabongs and Backyards: See the ancient Queensland lungfish, the amazing archer fish and an ever-growing collection of baby freshwater turtles! Meet green tree frogs and the pest of the nation – the cane toad!
Crawly Creatures: See some of the ocean’s biggest marine crustaceans, the giant king crab and painted crayfish in the Crawly Creatures Zone.
Presentations and talks: Gain admission to special presentations and interpretive talks that give you the chance to interact with UnderWater World staff and ask them questions.
