The Grampians National Park covers a large area in the west of Victoria. There are some great Aboriginal rock art sites set amongst the beautiful flowers and rocky landscape. It is a popular spot for bush walking and rock climbing to simply admire the spectacular views. Nestled in the heart of the Grampians, Halls Gap is a beautiful small town housing a number of cafes and tourist shops facing the grassy terrain fronting Stony Creek. The Grampians have been frequented by holidaymakers and trekkers, seeking a mountain forest and lake aura, time and again. Admire the phenomenal Jaws of Death and feast on the panoramic beauty of the landscape from the Boroka lookout and the Balconies.

The stupendous MacKenzie Falls impress with their mammoth torrents of water descending over huge cliffs into a deep pool. Spot deer, kangaroos, rosellas and kookaburras amidst a rich cloister of flora at the Zumsteins Park. The Grampians is indeed a unique getaway to a land of serenity.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Melbourne and travel in a luxury coach listening to the commentary.

Be inspired by the sheer majesty of Grampians National Park, with its wilderness of rugged cliffs and cascading waterfalls, all forming the south-west section of the Great Dividing Range. See Australian wildlife, tour the nearby township of Halls Gap on your small group vehicle.

Stop at the charming township of Beaufort and enjoy morning tea. Head into the heart of the Grampians National Park and stretch your legs with a walk through the breath-taking Wonderland Ranges. Experience the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Grampians National Park or 'Gariwerd', as known by the local Aborigines.

Visit picturesque Halls Gap, a unique village tucked away in the heart of the Grampians. Have free time for lunch (own expense). Visit Bambruk Aboriginal Cultural Centre bringing to life the amazing history and culture of the local Aboriginal communities. Enjoy views at Boroka Lookout and the Balconies. View Victoria Valley from Reids Lookout; admire the Jaws of Death. Enjoy an easy walk to MacKenzie Falls Lookout and see a spectacular series of waterfalls. The more energetic can wlk to the bottom (approximately 400 steps). Walk amid the emus, and see kangaroos and other native wildlife roaming free at Zumsteins Park. Stop for an evening meal (own expense) before returning to Melbourne.
