This tour comes in two options: Russell Falls Tour and the Russell Falls Tour with Lunch. The tours are identical, except the latter includes a delicious meal of wine and local fish.
Russell Falls Tour:
You will be picked up from your Gray Line Terminal, Brooke Street Pier or your Hobart hotel (subject to availability) by air-conditioned coach and taken to your special Explorer Coach. There will be an English narrated commentary on board.
Your first stop will be Salmon Ponds, the oldest trout hatchery in the Southern Hemisphere, located in the picturesque Derwent Valley. While at Salmon Ponds, you will have an opportunity to feed the trout and salmon and visit the Museum of Trout Fishing and the Tasmanian Angling Hall of Fame. Learn about the events that make up Tasmania 's rich angling history and the significant contribution of trout fishing pioneers to Tasmania 's world renowned trout fishery.
While you are at Salmon Ponds, you will enjoy morning tea with coffee or cake.
Leaving the hatchery, you will travel northwest to Mt. Field National Park, skirting the majestic Mt. Wellington range and following the course of the Derwent River.
Tall gum forests, towering ferns and pristine rainforest can all be seen in the magnificent Park. You will also view the stunning spectacle of Russell Falls, an Australian icon, which began appearing on the country’s stamps in 1899.
You can enjoy lunch at the Waterfalls Café near Russell Falls (payable direct).
Re-board your coach and follow the Tyenna River to Something Wild, a wildlife rehabilitation sanctuary where you can get up close-up views of wombats, Tasmanian devils, and koala bears.
You will be dropped back at the starting point of the tour.

This tour mirrors the one above, but includes a sumptuous lunch at Waterfalls Café in Mt. Field National Park, where you can enjoy fresh Tasmanian Salmon washed down with a glass of wine.
