Explore the scenic coastline and marine wildlife of Bruny Island on this tour of Tasmania. The island is made up of two parts joined together by an isthmus. It has great scenic beauty and is home to an amazing variety of wildlife besides being home to the second oldest lighthouse in Australia. It was built in 1836!

This tour will take you to the charming villages of Snug and Kettering. An informative commentary will give you a glimpse into local life and the fishing community that lives there. Located near the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, Kettering is particularly popular and affords panoramic views of the coastline.

Enjoy an eco cruise that will take you along the coast, away from the usual holiday crowds. Keep an eye out for mutton birds and fairy penguins that might grace you with their presence. Drift on to ‘Nature’s Cathedral’ where the 300 metre high Jurassic dolerite cliffs will impress you.

Itinerary

Please reach the departure point for this tour, Tasmanian Travel Center, 20 Davey Street Hobart, in time to board the luxury coach for your tour. Marvel at the spectacular views of Hobart and the Derwent River. Pass through Snug, a small town and Kettering, a small fishing village.

You will then reach the departure point from where you will board the ferry to cross to Bruny Island. It will take you approximately 10 minutes to reach Bruny Island.

At Bruny island, enjoy complimentary tea before you set out to explore the island. See stunning sea caves and fascinating rock formations. Don’t miss Friar Rocks which is home to over a thousand fur seals and is a major sea bird nesting area.

There will be a break for lunch at a suitable place and time.

Later, enjoy a cruise on the stunningly beautiful Adventure Bay

Later you will return to the jetty at Kettering from where you will board the luxury coach. You will be dropped back to the starting point of the tour where the tour ends.
