The 1,500 square kilometre Litchfield National Park encloses much of the spectacular Tabletop Range, which is a wide sandstone plateau mostly surrounded by cliffs. On this tour, you’ll get the chance to see the varied and fascinating topography of Australia’s Northern Territory and enjoy a cruise on the beautiful Mary River.
Check in at the Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge, located in the heart of the beautiful Mary River Wetlands. The lodge has 24 rooms in four separate blocks surrounded by shady lawn areas and wildlife including the large population of Agile Wallabies. The rooms are air-conditioned with a private bathroom. All rooms are in close proximity to the pool, bar and bistro.
Have lunch at the lodge and then go on a private river cruise. Your cruise will depart from Coroboree Billabong on the Mary River and will be of approximately one and a half hours duration. Keep an eye out for salt-water crocodiles which may be lurking in the water. The wetlands are also home to the wild buffalo and wallabies at the waters edge and a variety of birds too.
Return to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night.
Continue to the permanent camp within Kakadu National Park. The camps have comfortable tents with shared washroom facilities. The tents have real beds and clean bed linen is provided.
Continue to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) for a hike and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. There will be a break where you will enjoy your packed lunch. Later, you can refresh yourself by taking a dip in the plunge pool nearby.
Return to the camp for dinner and to spend the night.
After lunch, you will travel to Darwin where you will be dropped off at your hotel where the tour ends.
