The last stop on the tour is the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory which you are free to explore at your leisure.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Darwin and taken for this tour in an air conditioned vehicle accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
You will see:
Chinese Temple: Temple was originally built in 1887 for Darwin's sizeable Chinese community. The present building has preserved many interior furnishings from its predecessor.
Botanical Gardens: The garden is home to an interesting collection of trees and shrubs.
East Point Military Precinct: The East Point Military Museum has an interesting collection of exhibit photographs and artefacts from Darwin's war time history, including the bombing of Darwin by the Japanese during World War II.
Stokes Hill Wharf: A centre for tourists and locals, the long wooden Stokes Hill Wharf was once the town's main port area. The area is now filled with restaurants, bars, and shops and also has many trails to stroll along.
Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory: Set in a scenic location overlooking the Arafura Sea, it is internationally renowned for its extensive art, cultural and scientific collections and research programme.
