Your hotel in Darwin
Also included in this tour is the Window on the Wetlands visitor centre located on Beatrice Hill, the highest point on the Adelaide River floodplains. This coastal wetland along with the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve is a great place to spot a variety of birds and a large number of animals like wallabies, pigs, horses and buffaloes. So pack your binoculars and don’t forget to carry your camera on this tour.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Darwin and will travel in an air-conditioned vehicle to Fogg Dam Nature Reserve which is one of the several parks in the lower Adelaide river catchment area. It’s a great place to see a large variety of birds. Proceed to the starting point for the Jumping Crocodile Cruise on Adelaide River. Board the boat and as it winds its way through Adelaide river, see the saltwater crocodiles foist themselves out of water to grab the chunks of meat thrown at them by the guide. Listen to him tell you more about these creatures.
After the cruise, continue in the vehicle to the Window on the Wetlands visitor information centre which is located on top of Beatrice Hill. Enjoy panoramic views of the region. You will then continue in the vehicle past the small town of Humpty Doo while returning to Darwin. At Darwin you will be dropped off to your hotel where the tour ends.
