Immerse yourself in Australia’s aboriginal culture and learn of their music, dances and epics at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. This unique Cultural Park is situated on 25 acres of land in Caravonica Lakes, Cairns, immediately adjacent to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.

The entire park has been dedicated to preserving and presenting authentic aboriginal culture with the aid of the most modern technology. Five theatres, a museum, an art gallery and a traditional aboriginal camp combine to give visitors a complete and meaningful glimpse of Australia's rich and ancient culture.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairns and taken in a coach to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park.

Set in 25 acres of land in Cairns, you will be fascinated by the culture of this ancient people in the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Spend your time between five theatres, a museum, an art gallery and a traditional Aboriginal camp.

The Dance Theatre:
Witness a celebration of song and dance performed by multi-award winning Tjapukai dancers.

The Creation Theatre:
The traditional beliefs of the Tjapukai people are portrayed in this theatre, where live performers interact with giant holographic images. The story, told in Tjapukai language, can be listened through headsets (translations are available in eight languages).

A Traditional Camp:
This camp offers a chance to participate and interact with members of the aboriginal community. Try boomerang and spear throwing, didgeridoo playing or boomerang painting. Learn about bush foods and medicines.

The History Theatre:
Artistes here enact the story of what happened when the modern world descended upon a 40,000 year old culture.

The Magic Space:
In this museum you will see authentic artefacts which were once used by the Tjapukai tribe.

The Retail Gallery:
The Retail Gallery which has won the National Tourism Award as the Best Retail outlet in Australia is a reflection of Tjapukai's commitment to support indigenous artists and has a large range of authentic items.

At the end of the tour you will be be dropped back at your hotel.
