Enjoy an action-packed adventure - horse riding and quad biking on a Queensland farm.

Get in touch with your inner cowboy when you ride the Australian forests and ranges on a well-trained mount. Even beginners feel like expert riders on these obedient horses.

Rev up and set off through the bush on an adrenalin-pumping quad bike safari. No previous experience is necessary to enjoy the fun.

Zip along forest trails and across the savanna, cross creeks and nip around termite mounds. It's an experience you won't easily forget.

Meet the animals on this busy working farm. As well as the horses, these include cattle, sheep, goats, peacocks and chickens.

Return to Cairns with happy memories of a fun-filled day.

Itinerary

For your exciting Horse Riding and Quad Bike Adventure from Cairns you will be picked up from your hotel and driven out to the ranch at Kuranda, 35 minutes west of Cairns.

Before setting out on your ride, you will have morning tea, and will be given your protective helmet and a safety lesson. Kuranda has a stable of more than 70 well-behaved horses and can cater for all ages and riding abilities.

You will enjoy a 2 hour ride through lush pasture and forest around the ranch. As you follow interesting trails through the woods, you can see plenty of native wildlife. From gaps in the trees you will catch spectacular views over the tablelands and coast.

On your return, you will be served an Aussie-style barbeque lunch. Vegetarian options are available on prior request.

After lunch, you have 1 hour 45 minutes to rest, go shopping in the Kuranda boutique, and meet the other farm animals - including cattle, sheep, goats, peacocks and chickens.

Then it's back into action for your quad bike adventure. Before setting out, you will have afternoon tea, and will be given a basic quad bike lesson and safety instructions. Kuranda has a large fleet of quad bikes, 250cc ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) plus 90cc ATVs for women and children.

You will enjoy a 2- hour ride along tree-lined trails and across the savanna grasslands of this 1000 hectare farm. Your tour starts in a safe open paddock where you can improve your skill in steering and handling your ATV.

After the fun of the short course, you will venture into the forest, skirting creeks and whizzing round giant termite mounds. There's plenty of space so you can rev up and get dirty - if you want to!

On your return, you will be served refreshments, including hot snacks. Vegetarian options are available on prior request.

At the end of your adventurous day, you will be dropped off back at your hotel in Cairns.
