You will travel to Simpsons Gap, a picturesque spot in the western MacDonnell Ranges for an early morning stroll. Continue to the Aboriginal settlement Hermannsburg and visit the historic mission station. Hermannsburg was established as an Aboriginal Mission by two missionaries and today the historic township is an attraction. See the old houses and the sand paintings there.

There will be a break for lunch (payable direct). In the afternoon, explore King’s Canyon which is situated within the Watarrka National Park. It is a huge canyon 270 meters high. Enjoy a 3-hour walk around the area; you could walk around the rim of the canyon, pass the tropical pools of the Garden of Eden and the beehive rock formations called the Lost City.

Tonight you will spend the night at King’s Canyon Lodge which has comfortably furnished accommodation with sharing facilities (the shower and bathrooms) and a restaurant.

Day 2: Watarrka – Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park (Ayers Rock/Olgas)
After breakfast, board the mini-bus and travel over the amazing red sand dunes to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the heart of the Outback. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage area. It is best known for Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock), a single massive rock formation, and also for Kata Tjuta (formerly known as The Olgas), a range of rock domes.

Check in at Ayers Rock Resort in Yulara, a town near the Park.
After lunch (payable direct), travel to Kata Tjuta. Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, these rock formations are also an important part of the cultural landscape of the region. Enjoy a walk in the Valley of the Winds here. Drive to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and take in the sensual sunset while enjoying a glass of champagne.
