Itinerary

Day 1: Alice Springs - King’s Canyon
You will be picked up from your hotel in Alice Springs and travel in an off-road mini-bus with an English and German speaking driver who is also a guide. You will travel to Simpsons Gap, a picturesque spot in the western MacDonnell Ranges for an early morning stroll. Continue to the Aboriginal settlement Hermannsburg and visit the historic mission station. Hermannsburg was established as an Aboriginal Mission by two missionaries and today the historic township is an attraction. See the old houses and the sand paintings there.

Travel on the Mereenie Road across a vast desert landscape to Watarrka National Park.
There will be a break for lunch (payable direct). In the afternoon, explore King’s Canyon which is situated within the Watarrka National Park. It is a huge canyon 270 meters high. Enjoy a 3-hour walk around the area; you could walk around the rim of the canyon, pass the tropical pools of the Garden of Eden and the beehive rock formations called the Lost City.
Tonight you will spend the night at King’s Canyon Lodge which has comfortably furnished accommodation with sharing facilities (the shower and bathrooms) and a restaurant.

Please note all meals are payable direct in this tour.

Day 2: Watarrka – Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park (Ayers Rock/Olgas)
After breakfast, board the mini-bus and travel over the amazing red sand dunes to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the heart of the Outback. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage area. It is best known for Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock), a single massive rock formation, and also for Kata Tjuta (formerly known as The Olgas), a range of rock domes.
Check in at Ayers Rock Resort in Yulara, a town near the Park.
After lunch (payable direct), travel to Kata Tjuta. Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, these rock formations are also an important part of the cultural landscape of the region. Enjoy a walk in the Valley of the Winds here. Drive to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and take in the sensual sunset while enjoying a glass of champagne.
Tonight you will spend the night at Outback Pioneer Lodge, which provides comfortable, clean dormitory accommodation with shared bathroom facilities. The lodge has air-conditioning and heating, a common room and a common kitchen with self-help facilities.

Day 3: Uluru - Yulara Airport
Early morning proceed to watch a sensational sunrise over Uluru and a walk around the base where you can appreciate its Aboriginal cave paintings and waterholes.
You will then go to the award-winning Cultural Centre. This centre will familiarize you with Anangu culture and art and the Anangu way of life (traditional and current), history and languages. The displays include photo collages, oral history sound panels, Pitjantjatjara language learning interactives, soundscapes, videos and artefacts. Explanations are provided in Pitjantjatjara, English, Italian, Japanese, German and French.
After that you will return to the resort to pick up your luggage and will then be taken to the airport at Ayers Rock where the tour ends.
