Alice Springs is an area in Australia's northern territory and Alice is a small town which is a popular tourist attraction. It is the base for many holidays in and around the area. On this tour, see the attractions of Alice: historic Telegraph Station, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, School of Air, Reptile Centre and Anzac Hill.

The Alice Springs Reptile Centre houses unique central Australian reptiles such as the Perentie and Thorny Devil. See panoramic views of Alice Springs and the surrounding ranges from the top of Anzac Hill.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel and travel in a luxury coach for this sightseeing tour. You will see:

• The Telegraph Station: Built around 1870 to relay messages between Darwin and Adelaide, it was from here, in January 1872, that the first telegraph message was transmitted to Adelaide.
•Reptile Centre: It has the largest reptile display in the Northern Territory. It houses the huge Perentie Goannas, frilled neck lizards, thorny devils and many other fascinating reptiles.
• Royal Flying Doctor Service: The first building, opened in 1938. The building was one of the pre-world war II Arid Zone designs erected in Alice Springs at the time.
• The School of Air: The Alice Springs School of the Air was the first one of its kind established in Australia. It is a primary aged correspondence school that use many communications technologies to keep in touch with students, home tutors and teachers. The first broadcasts were made from the Royal Flying Doctor Base in Alice Springs, Northern Territory (NT), in 1951.
• Anzac Hill: See panoramic views of the town from top of this hill.
