Activity Overview

See what the fuss is all about when you come face to face with Ayers Rock (Uluru) - the largest monolith in the world and Kata Tjuta - which was, at one time, even bigger than Uluru. Hike the Valley of the Winds and see the awe-inspiring sunset over Uluru. Savour the silence of the Outback in an overnight camp.

Explore the Kings Canyon, the Lost City and Garden of Eden and marvel at the majesty of nature in this region.

Itinerary

Day 1: Alice Springs to Kata Tjuta and Uluru

You will be picked up from your hotel in Alice Springs and taken for this tour in a coach accompanied by an English speaking guide. You will visit:
Kata Tjuta: Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, these rock formations are also an important part of the cultural landscape of the region. The features of both Uluru and Kata Tjuta are physical evidence of the actions, artefacts and bodies of the ancestral heroes (the tjukuritja) who travelled the earth in prehistoric times. The travels of these ancestral heroes are celebrated in Anangu religion and culture today.

Uluru: Also known as Ayers Rock, this is a large sandstone rock formation in this region. It has many springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings. Uluru is listed as a World Heritage Site for its natural and man-made attributes.

Outback Camel Farm: Stop at this farm and learn about these animals which have played an important role in the development of central Australia.

Valley of the Winds: Hike to the Valley of the Winds and admire the panoramic vistas of Ayers Rock.

Admire the sunset over Uluru and then return to the overnight camp in an Aussie swag.

Day 2: Uluru to Kings Canyon

Enjoy the sunrise over Uluru and then indulge in the following activities:
Uluru Base Walk: This 9.4km walk that circles the base of Uluru is the best way to experience the monolith at ground level. The walk is divided into sections, or visitors can choose to walk the entire circumference.

Kings Canyon: Situated within the Watarrka National Park, it is a huge canyon 270m high. The walk around the rim of the canyon is definitely worth it as the views are spectacular.

Stay the night at an overnight camp.

Day 3: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

Proceed to Kings Canyon. Pass the tropical pools of the Garden of Eden, and the beehive rock formations called the Lost City. The views from the canyon are also spectacular, overlooking the beautiful landscape.

Travel back to Alice Springs.

At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off to your hotel.
