On this tour sample some of the best wine produced within Australia. The Barossa Valley produces over half the country’s wine and is Australia's largest wine-growing area. The panoramic beauty of Barossa Valley is complete with the Murray River in the east, one of the largest river systems in the world.

Discover the rich cultural legacy of its specialty foods, festivals, historic architecture and antique galleries. The Barossa Valley was originally settled by German Lutheran farmers in the 1830s and you can see their imprints everywhere: in the classic wine, the traditional bakeries, the churches and the houses. Also included in this tour is a visit to the pretty German-settled town of Hahdorf situated in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. This town still retains its proud German heritage which can be seen in its buildings. For a perfect way to round off the day why not visit the German Cake Shop and sample homemade cakes straight out of the oven!

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel and travel in a luxury coach to the Barossa Valley. This popular combination tour features the picturesque scenery and attractions of the Mount Lofty Ranges including entry to Cleland Wildlife Park, apple and cherry orchards of the Onkaparinga valley, German settlement of Hahndorf and the vineyards of the Barossa Valley.

You will have free time to explore the oldest German settlement in Australia, Hahndorf, and see quaint cottages and craft shops or enjoy some fine local hospitality in many streetside cafés. Enjoy the freedom to walk the trails of Cleland Wildlife Park and come face to face with a host of Australian wildlife. Enjoy spectacular views of Adelaide from the Mount Lofty Lookout.

There will be a lunch break. From Mengler’s Hill lookout get great views of the rolling vineyards of the Barossa valley. Sample local Barossa wines at a family owned and operated Barossa Valley winery. You will visit three wineries where you will sample some fine wines.

The tour ends at your hotel.
