Overview

Aswan, though located on the east bank of river Nile, is one of the driest places in the world. Yet it has a beautiful green garden where you can appreciate the beauty of a variety of plants and trees. Board a felucca (an Egyptian sailing boat) to reach the island of Lord Kitchner, which was gifted to this English General for his military exploits in Sudan. A nature lover, he imported plants and trees from all over the world and laid the foundation of the Botanical Garden as we see it today. A stroll around the garden will refresh you and your visit to the Lord Kitchner Island in Aswan will be a beautiful memory.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Aswan in an air-conditioned coach. Accompanied by a guide, you will be taken to the Nile to board a felucca (sailing boat) to visit the Botanical Garden. The island must be reached by boat and is located on the other side of Elephantine Island from Aswan. This famous botanical garden is filled with exotic plants and trees imported from all over the world. The island was given to Lord Kitchner for his campaigns in Sudan, and he moved there, created his garden and imported plants and trees from all over the world.

After spending some time in the cool shade of the botanical garden, you will be dropped back to your hotel in Aswan.
