Bitten by the travel bug? Hold tight while we take you on an adventurous ride through a scenic cornucopia of icy glaciers, natural conserves, and magnificent fjords, right to the end of the world! Welcome to Southern Patagonia, land of the big feet (Patagoni) so named after the earliest inhabitants of this area, dont ask why! Imagine yourself in a picturesque town, at the foot of towering mountains caressed by the waters of a sparkling lake. The town is El Calafate, surrounded by the Calafate Mountains with Lake Argentina flowing at the foothill. The picturesque greens of El Calafate are actually a gateway to the imposing whiteness of the famed Perito Moreno and Upsala Glaciers. Take a nature tour to the Los Glaciares National Park, around the Argentinean lake and get up close to the local flora and fauna. And then on to the spellbinding sight of Perito Moreno Glacier. Walk the icy river and feast your eyes on peaks, cracks, floes and the blue coloured lagoons that surround you. Here, you could take a mini trek to the glacier front or sail across the Rico Lake for a magnificent view of the glacier walls. Your ice- sojourn is incomplete without a trip to the Upsala Glaciers. This is yet another short trip from El Calafate to port of Punta Bandera, from where you board a catamaran and sail the northern side of the Argentina Lake. Cruising along the still waters of the lake, you will chance upon impressive icebergs, ice floes and a spectacular view of the Upsala glacier.
