Introduction

In the last few years, Malaga has undergone a true revolution in catering that has converted it into a top gastronomic destination. This tour takes to you to some of the typical restaurants in the city where you can sample traditional culinary delights and some wine to go with it.

Do try out the pescaíto frito (little fried fish) and ‘barbequed sardines on a stick’, as it is just too tempting and no one can leave the city without having tasted it. The aroma that emanates from the bars and restaurants that prepare these dishes will make your mouth water! During your Malaga tour, practice what is known as ‘tapeo’, a clever formula that allows you to taste just about everything, out of culinary curiosity.

After a sumptuous tapas lunch, top it off with a visit to Bodega Quitapenas, the oldest wine cellar in Malaga, where you can sample some wine specialities.

Itinerary

You will be picked up in an air-conditioned vehicle from Malaga Airport or from any hotel or resort along the Costa del Sol, between Malaga and Marbella. You will be taken to some of the city’s famous bars and restaurants to sample its various culinary delights. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.

Start the tour of the city by going to Gibralfaro, renowned for the Castillo de Gibralfaro, where you will be able to enjoy a magnificent view of the city and its harbour.

Begin your ‘tapas tour’ and practise what is known as tapeo, a clever formula that allows you to taste just about everything. During your visit to the old part of Malaga you will visit four different tapas bars. The tour price includes the first two tapas and two drinks.

After a day of sampling gastronomic delights, head back to the coast. You will be dropped back to Malaga Airport or your hotel of stay in Malaga.
