Atlas Mountains Excursion - Overview

Visit the local souks (markets) in Tahanaout and Asni and get a feel of the culture and traditions of Morocco. Bustling with activity, these souks will provide you with ample shopping opportunities.

Visit the fabulous hillsides of Ouirgane that overlook quaint villages and brilliant landscapes. Ride a horse through the lush countryside and remote villages through the Atlas Mountains on this adventure trip. Also visit the gravesite and the home of Rabbi Ben Diouane who is revered for his ability to cure blindness.

Atlas Mountains Excursion - Itinerary


Your tour begins with a pick up from you hotel in Marrakech at 9:30am. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will embark on a journey into the Atlas Mountains. En route you will get to see a vast array of vegetation, mountain streams, coloured rock cliffs, Berber villages and local mouttain people.

Visit the local souks at Tahanaout and Asni ( takes place on Tuesdays and Satudays), this is a wonderful opportunity to photograph colourful and traditional rural markets which are bustling with activity.

Continue your trip through to Ouirgane, with its famous hillside views overlooking local villages. At this point we will break for lunch (at own expense). From this area, you may mule trek through scenic countryside and remote villages, hike through similarly beautiful terrain, or ride horses from the stables at La Roseraie (not included). You may also visit the nearby gravesite and former home of Rabbi Ben Diouane, a Jewish saint revered around the world for his ability to cure blindness.

At the end of the tour you will return to your hotel in Marrakech.
